INTRODUCTION
B.Sc. Mechanical Engineer Upgrading to Marine Engineer Course is based on the requirements of Regulation III/1 of the IMO STCW '95 Convention.
The trainees who successfully complete the programme are eligible to appear for the Certificate of Competency Officer-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch Examination conducted by the Directorate of Merchant Shipping, Sri Lanka.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A degree in Mechanical Engineering from an approved university. The candidate should pass a medical fitness test and the sight test to the satisfaction of the college.
Duration
21 ½ - months
Course Outline
Phase I - 06 months at College
Phase II - Approx. 12 months supervised on board training.
Phase III - 3½ months Preparatory Course for Officer-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch Examination conducted by the Directorate of Merchant Shipping, Sri Lanka. Project work as per IMAREST assignments
