Department of Marine Electronics and Radio Communications Engineering caters to Global Maritime Distress and Safety Systems (GMDSS) Course and other Marine Electronics Training Programmes.
CINEC is a member of the Association of Marine Electronics and Radio College (AMERC) in U.K. Students who are successful at the GMDSS examinations are awarded with certificates by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency in UK. The College is equipped with a modern laboratory, which includes live and simulated GMDSS equipment. Additional Marine Electronics apparatus comprises of Microwave Communication, Fibre Optics, Micro Processors, Micro Controllers, Telecommunications and a wide range of general electronics training systems.

Ship EPIRB Tests
EPIRB Test Certificate for any type of EPIRB use on board vessels. Charge USD 160/= (This charge is not applicable if full GMDSS Radio Survey is carried out).
Ship EPIRB Programming
CINEC is an approved centre by the JOTRON Co. Norway and is permitted to programme any Jotron Marine Electronics communication equipment which requires programming. Charge is USD 400/=
RD-401 - Global Maritime Distress & Safety Systems (GMDSS) General Operators Certificate (GOC)
This is a mandatory qualification for Navigating Officers. The course covers the syllabus approved by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) UK. The Association of Marine Electronics and Radio Colleges (AMERC) UK is administering the course and examinations on behalf of the MCA. CINEC is a member of the AMERCUK. Syllabus is prescribed by the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) and International Maritime Organization. However, the course can be undertaken by persons who require statutory certification to operate Radio Communication equipment and those who are attached to defence services. Candidates will receive a UK Government Certification. Total course and examination fee is USD 773/=.
ED-390 - Certificate in Basic Electronics (Electronics-I) for Marine Officers
This course has been designed to give fundamental principles and practice in Basic Electronics for Marine Engineering Officers. However this is suitable for anyone who requires exposure in Basic Electronics.. Electronics laboratories are equipped with modern Electronics trainers and instruments. Candidates must possess knowledge of electrical principles.
Course contains working principles of major electronics circuit components, diodes transistors, FET s, MOSFET s, SCR s and operation of amplifiers, power supply circuits, oscillators, preliminary digital circuits and power control circuits. Course fee is USD 175/=
ED-391 - Certificate in Electronics (Electronics-II) for Marine Officers
This course has been designed to give further principles and practice in Basic Electronics for Marine Engineering Officers. However the course is suitable for anyone who requires exposure in Basic Electronics.. Electronics laboratories are equipped with modern Electronics Trainers including Micro Controllers and Intel Pentium Processors Trainers. Persons who have completed Electronics-I module or have the Basic Electronics knowledge can apply for this course. More detailed principles and circuitry found in the Electronics-I will be covered in this module. Detailed digital and analogue circuits will be covered. Course fee is USD 185/=
