INTRODUCTION
Engineering Watch Rating Training Programme is based on the requirements of regulation 111/4 of the International Convention on standards of Training Certification and Watch Keeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1995. Candidates who successfully complete the course are eligible to appear for the examination conducted by the Directorate of Merchant Shipping, Sri Lanka.
Certified candidates qualify to sail as ratings forming part of a watch in a manned engine room or to perform duties in a periodically unmanned engine room.
