INTRODUCTION
Officer-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch Examination Preparatory Course is based on requirements of Regulation 111/1 of the IMO STCW 95 convention.
The trainees who successfully complete the Course are eligible to appear for the Certificate of Competency Officer-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch Examination conducted by the Directorate of Merchant Shipping, Sri Lanka.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This course is open for students of following Categories.
- Those who wish to enhance their knowledge.
- Those who wish to enhance their knowledge should already be in the Marine Engineering field.
Their experience and qualifications will be assessed by HMD and their enrollment will be at the discretion of the HMD.
- Those who wish to appear for the Certificate of Competency Officer-in-Charge of an Engineering Watch Examination should have the minimum requirements specified in the Government Gazette of 17.07.1998.
